2024 Congressional App Challenge

The Congressional App Challenge officially opens on May 1 and closes on October 24

The challenge is an opportunity for students in grades 6-12 to code for Congress and is the most prestigious prize for students in computer science.

Students within Ohio’s 10th Congressional District compete against each other by creating and exhibiting an original software application, or “app,” for the web, PC, tablet, mobile, or other platform of their choice. Winner(s) will be selected by a panel of judges drawn from the local community and honored by Congressman Turner. The winner(s) will then be invited to Capitol Hill for the annual #HouseOfCode event to present their apps to Members of Congress and have their apps eligible to be featured on display in the U.S. Capital building, on house.gov, and on the Congressional App Challenge website.

Students may work individually, in partners, or as a team (up to four). Any student who lives in Ohio’s 10th district or attends school in the district is eligible to participate.
