Turner, R-Centerville, announced Wednesday he has been named chairman of the House Armed Services Strategic Forces subcommittee. The subcommittee oversees the nation's nuclear arsenal, the military's assets in outer space, U.S. Department of Defense's intelligence programs and missile defense systems.
