John McHugh is an outstanding choice to be the new Secretary of the Army and I would like to personally congratulate him on his nomination. .

U.S. Congressman Michael R. Turner, the Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee, issued the following statement in response to Rep. John McHugh (R-NY) nomination as Secretary of the Army:

"John McHugh is an outstanding choice to be the new Secretary of the Army and I would like to personally congratulate him on his nomination. John and I have served together for 7 years on the House Armed Services Committee where I have found him to be a man of great integrity and an uncompromising supporter of our service members. Under his leadership as the Ranking Member of the full committee, John has kept the focus on adequate funding for our troops. I am confident as Secretary of the Army he will remain a strong voice for our national security and our Army personnel. I look forward to his confirmation as the new Secretary of the Army."
