Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, introduced legislation today to ensure that politically funded information cannot be used as evidence in a court to monitor a U.S. citizen. He released the following statement:

"The surveillance abuses brought to light in the past several weeks are extremely concerning. No one, regardless of party, should have politically funded dirt used against them as evidence in court. My bill will amend the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to ensure U.S. citizens get fair legal treatment before the government infringes on their privacy. I hope that Congress can come to a bipartisan agreement that using politically funded materials in court as evidence should not happen again."
