Chairman Mike Turner (OH-10) of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces issued the following statement regarding the Department of Defense’s audit:
“The House Armed Services Committee required this audit knowing that the outcome would paint a bleak picture of the financial controls and information systems at the Department of Defense. These basic accounting failures have cost our taxpayers, our men and women in uniform, and ultimately our greater national security. Now that we have a clearer picture of the failures at the DoD, we can take action to fix them, hold leadership at DoD accountable, and save important resources for protecting our country.”
