Washington, DC: Today, following the release of President Obama's fiscal year 2016 budget request, Congressman Mike Turner, Chairman of the House Armed Services Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee, released the following statement:

"The President's budget request is a non-starter. This proposal includes a $2.1 trillion dollar tax increase, adds $8.5 trillion dollars to our national debt, and never balances.

Demanding higher taxes as the only mechanism to avert the President's sequestration is not a serious solution to this failed policy.

The President must be willing to work with Congress to find bipartisan, sustainable, and long-term solutions that protect our national security and grow our economy."
