The Brownfields Redevelopment Tax Incentive Reauthorization Act of 2021 Restores Federal Tax Deduction to Spur Economic Development and Strengthen Local Communities
Washington, DC–– Today, Representative Mike Turner (OH-10) reintroduced the Brownfields Redevelopment Tax Incentive Reauthorization Act, alongside Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11). This bipartisan bill restores an expired tax incentive allowing developers to fully deduct the costs of environmental remediation of brownfields in the year the costs were incurred. This legislation was first introduced in 2019.

Brown (MD-04) announced the award of $30.4 million total to 70 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) minority-serving institutions (MSIs) as part of the (FY) 2021 DoD Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority-Serving Institutions (HBCU/MSI) Research and Education Program. Awards range up to $600,000 and will support the acquisition of equipment at 32 HBCUs, 37 MSIs and one tribal college.
