Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) cosponsored H.R. 2328, The Community Health Investment, Modernization, and Excellence Act of 2019, which has been included in the Omnibus Package that passed the House of Representatives earlier today. This legislation aims to end surprise medical billing by shielding patients from excessive costs given by out of network healthcare services. Meanwhile, it allows for fair negotiation of outstanding costs between insurers and medical providers through an independent dispute resolution process.

Yesterday, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) announced it is working to infuse third party investment into the installation's programmatic interest through an Enhanced Use Lease (EUL). Since October 2019, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) has been working with WPAFB, the Dayton Development Coalition, and Air Force leadership to permit the use of an EUL to make it possible for developers to lease unused land at Wright-Patt and build property on it for commercial use.

After 11 years of fighting for their pensions, the Delphi Salaried Retirees are given hope by President Donald J. Trump. Today, President Trump signed a presidential memorandum directing his cabinet to come back within 90 days with recommendations that provide a remedy to restore the Delphi Salaried Retirees' pensions. This remedy will have a 180 day implementation period. Remedies may include legislative or administrative options.

When House Majority Leadership refuses to advance a bill to the floor, a majority of House Members can sign a discharge petition to force the bill to the floor for a vote.

Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) led 15 Members of Congress in urging President Trump to direct the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) to restore the pensions of Delphi Salaried Retirees to the greatest extent possible. Specifically, the letter calls on President Trump to direct his Cabinet Members sitting on the PBGC Board of Directors, under 29 U.S. Code §?1347, to arrive at a settlement agreement to restore the salaried retirees' pensions by conducting transparent negotiations in good faith. Trump is considering intervening on behalf of Delphi Salaried Retirees.

Yesterday, Peter Navarro, Assistant to President Trump, told Dayton Daily News regarding the pensions of the Delphi Salaried Retirees that "This has the President's attention, and we're moving. We're looking at it. It's a high priority. I will personally try to move this at least in terms of the legal review as quickly as we can." Additionally, Navarro told WFMJ, "We believe very strongly that Joe Biden and Barack Obama did a tremendous disservice to the Delphi salaried employees.
