Congressman Mike Turner announced a final decision by the U.S. Department of Commerce on recent scope ruling requests, which ensures that antidumping duties are applied to certain petroleum wax candles from China, helping to protect domestic candle manufacturers. The Department ruled that a majority of the imported Chinese candles are subject to antidumping duties.

As our men and women in uniform return home from serving our country, many are left looking to their next opportunity. While some will remain in the armed services, others will transition back to being civilians. Since coming to Washington, I have worked closely with the military and veterans community to ensure our heroes can successfully transition back to civilian life.
Most veterans who leave service will enter the civilian job market. These men and women offer superior leadership and management experience, which every company should utilize. I know this first hand. I work to employ veterans in my own office and work with many throughout our community and on Capitol Hill.
Congressman Mike Turner, Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces, released the following statement after reports have emerged that the Obama Administration will reverse course and place ground-based interceptors at missile silos in Alaska and California. Turner for years has been advocating for the placement of missiles in those silos to counter the threat of a missile attack on the homeland. Turner had offered an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act which would have accomplished this.

The co-chairs of the Military Sexual Assault Prevention Caucus today joined a chorus of other lawmakers and victims' advocates calling for a review of an Air Force three-star general's controversial decision last month to overturn a sexual assault conviction at Aviano Air Base, Italy.
Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) and Congresswoman Niki Tsongas (MA-3), Co-Chairs of the Military Sexual Assault Prevention Caucus, sent a letter to Air Force Secretary Michael B. Donley expressing their deep dismay regarding a recent decision by a military convening authority to disapprove and dismiss the adjudged General Court-Martial conviction and sentence of 31st Fighter Wing Inspector General, Lt Col James Wilkerson. The lawmakers have stated that they are "struggling to understand" how this decision could come to pass.
