The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (GDRTA) is set to receive a federal award worth $75,046,492 from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) through the CARES Act. This grant award will allow the GDTRA to navigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and fund continued public transportation services to keep the Dayton region moving during this uncertain time. The allocation of these grants was made possible by Congressman Mike Turner's (OH-10) support of the CARES Act.

Wright State Research Institute (WSRI), located in Dayton, OH is to receive $11.6 million in federal funding. The award is part of the Air Force's Academic Partnership and Engagement Experiment (APEX) program, which aims to address priority research requirements of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). The funding will focus on innovative approaches to technology transfer issues and will foster collaboration between AFRL and WSRI. This award was made possible by provisions Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) included in the FY 2020 Defense Appropriations.

Five Rivers Health Centers and the Community Health Centers of Greater Dayton are to receive federal grants worth $943,000 and $818,000, respectively, to prevent the spread and mitigate the damage of coronavirus. Cornerstone Research Group, located in Miamisburg, Ohio, is now under contract with the Missile Defense Agency to manufacture high temperature, carbon-carbon composite materials that enable advanced hypersonic technologies. This $7 million contract was made possible by provisions Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) included in the FY 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and in FY 2020 Defense Appropriations.

In a substantial win for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), the Space Force announced its intention to transfer five units at WPAFB from the Air Force to the Space Force. This announcement comes after months of advocating by Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) with senior military and political leaders. At the signing ceremony of the bill that created Space Force, Turner explained to Vice President Pence the unique capabilities and assets at WPAFB that make it so valuable to our national defense.

This request will open a new funding resource through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to financially assist Ohio's COVID-19 response.

Today, the House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed the Emmett Till Antilynching Act. Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) released the following statement upon its passage:

"As a cosponsor of this bill, I am committed to recognizing lynchings for what they are: hate crimes. Today's long overdue House passage of this bill makes lynching a hate crime act within federal statute. Just last year an outside Klu Klux Klan group came to Dayton, Ohio, to rally. We came together as a community to rise above their hate. As a country we must acknowledge the deeply hateful past of lynchings, and today's bill is a step forward in doing so."
