WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman and Head of the U.S. Delegation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Mike Turner (OH-10) issued the following statement:

"From strong economic ties to interoperable defense capabilities, Finland is a critical partner and longtime ally of the United States. I applaud Turkey's decision to ratify Finland's application to join NATO. It is now on Hungary to quickly approve Finland's bid which will strengthen the Alliance during a time of Russian aggression and increasing threats. Following Finland's ascension, it is my hope that Sweden will be swiftly approved to join the strategic alliance."

This legislation is the House companion of a bill introduced today by Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Mitt Romney.

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Congressmen Mike Turner (OH-10) and Jared Golden (ME-02) sent a bipartisan letter this week to urge congressional leadership to include a reauthorization of the Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC) in any end of year legislation.

"We represent working people who have been left without affordable health insurance since Congress allowed the program to expire at the beginning of the year," the lawmakers wrote. "The HCTC provides refundable tax credits to retirees whose pensions have been taken over by the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC)."

Dayton, OH- Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) announced that he is pursuing $2 million in federal funding in the House Labor, Health and Human Services, Education Appropriations bill for Dayton Foodbank. If approved by the full Congress, the funding will be used to construct an additional building that will include exam rooms and other resources for the food bank. The committee-passed appropriations bill awaits full consideration in the House when Congress returns in November.
