Dayton, OH- Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) announced his appointment of former Governor of Ohio, Robert Taft, to the Afghanistan War Commission. Taft will serve alongside 15 other commissioners appointed by fellow senior members of Congress.

Columbus, OH- Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) announced that the annual Ohio Defense and Aerospace Forum will take place in Dayton, Ohio for 2023. Turner created the forum in 2016 alongside Dayton Development Coalition. He announced the move today, following his opening of the 7th annual forum.

Washington, DC- Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) received the "Guardian of Small Business Award" from the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB). The award is NFIB's most prestigious legislative award and is earned by lawmakers who voted with small businesses on key issues 70% or more of the time during the 117th Congress.

This Congress, Turner has a perfect score, voting with small business 100% of the time, and has maintained that average over the last eight years.

 


September 13, 2022

Washington, DC- Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) announced that over $850,000 in federal funds have been awarded to local fire departments in the community. The Cities of Trotwood, Vandalia, Brookeville and Dayton, all in Turner's district, were allocated funds under the Department of Homeland Security's FY21 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG).

Dayton, OH- Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) released the following statement on the 21st anniversary of 9/11:

"Tomorrow, we remember the nearly 3,000 Americans who died in the horrific terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and those aboard flight 93. We will never forget the acts of heroism our first responders displayed when they charged into the burning buildings that fateful day. Thank you to our service members stationed overseas who brought justice to those who attacked our nation and continue today to protect Americans at home. Your service and sacrifices will never be forgotten."

"Queen Elizabeth II was a remarkable leader who impacted and inspired the world in countless ways throughout her 70-year reign. As England's longest serving monarch, she led her country through many obstacles and triumphs with strength, dignity and grace. My condolences to the Royal Family and the British people as they mourn this great loss."

Dayton, OH- Today, following a tour of the Carillon Historic Park and the Wright Company Factory in the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park with Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14), Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) highlighted his federal efforts to preserve Dayton's history, specifically his pieces of legislation that designated the Wright Factory as a national park and officially established the Wright Brothers National Museum in Dayton. Turner also announced his intention to revitalize the Wright Company Factory through the federal appropriations process.

SPRINGFIELD, OH- After securing over $10 million in federal funding for the new National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence (NAAMCE), today Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) participated in the groundbreaking ceremony at Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport. NAAMCE would be home to research and development opportunities on unmanned drones and electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft programs.

Dayton, OH- Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) advocated for his bill, the Improving Newborn Formula Access for a Nutritious Tomorrow (INFANT) Act. The INFANT Act will prohibit states from contracting over 70 percent of their Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program baby formula supply from one manufacturer, thereby increasing competitiveness in the market and bolstering the supply chain.

Trotwood, OH- Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) advocated for the Homes for Every Local Protector, Educator, and Responder (HELPER) Act and how it will benefit the educators and first responders in Trotwood, and communities across the country. The bill will make it easier for educators and first responders to afford their first home in the communities they work in by allowing eligible individuals to qualify for a one-time mortgage on their primary home and be exempt from a down-payment and monthly mortgage insurance premium.
