DAYTON, OHIO - Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) released the following statement on the passing of Clay Mathile.

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Clay Mathile.

"Clay was an instrumental member of our community. He was an advocate for the people of the Miami Valley, and he will be remembered for his drive, tenacity, and generosity to others.

"Clay embodied the American Dream. His hard work, grit, and determination helped him find success. Clay donated tens of millions of dollars and gave back to the Miami Valley.

MIAMISBURG, OHIO – Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) and Michelle Collins, Mayor of Miamisburg, held a press conference at the Mound Science and Energy Museum to announce the renaming of portions of the Mound Connector after former Miamisburg Mayor Richard C. Church Jr. In Fiscal Year 2023, Congressman Turner secured $1 million in federal funding for the Mound Connector Highway Project.

DAYTON, OHIO – Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) announced that over $450,000 in federal funds have been awarded to local firefighters and paramedics in the Southwest Ohio area. The Cities of Huber Heights and Springfield, both in Turner's district, were allocated funds under the Department of Homeland Security's FY22 Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) Program. Recipients are eligible to direct these funds toward operations and safety, vehicle acquisition, and regional projects. The City of Dayton, also in Turner's district, was allocated funds under the Department of Homeland Security's Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) Grant Program, which is part of the AFG Program.

DAYTON, OHIO – Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) hosted Veterans' Affairs Committee Chairman Mike Bost (IL-12) at the Dayton VA. On this visit, Chairman Bost was able to see the state-of-the-art facilities and gain a better understanding of veterans needs in Southwest Ohio. The members received briefings from senior VA leadership and toured multiple facilities such as the Medical Center and St. Mary's Properties. Following the visit, the two held a joint press conference to discuss the day.

DAYTON, OHIO – Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10), Jeffrey J. Mims, Jr., Mayor of Dayton, and Mackensie Wittmer, Executive Director of the National Aviation Heritage Area, held a press conference at the Wright Company Factory to discuss their collective efforts to rehabilitate the site following the March 2023 fire. Congressman Turner announced that the first version of the appropriations package for Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development included his request for $4 million to rebuild the buildings that were damaged from the fire.
