"I am very saddened to hear about the passing of Sheriff Gene Fischer. He led many initiatives to make our community a better place, including his outstanding efforts to help reintegrate incarcerated individuals struggling with addiction back into our community. He improved the lives of many and made a lasting impact on our community. WASHINGTON, DC – Last week, senior member of the House Armed Services and Intelligence Committees, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10), alongside Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman Mike Rogers (AL-3), led a group of colleagues in sending a letter to President Biden urging the Biden Administration to take swift action against Russia's most recent buildup at the Ukrainian Border.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following a report that the White House had the Pentagon delay a hypersonic missile test, Congressman Mike Turner released the following statement:
"We recently heard from General Hyten that the U.S. has only conducted nine hypersonic missile tests in the last five years, while China has executed hundreds of tests. We are now behind," said Turner. "This is especially concerning given President Biden's reported delay on a long-planned hypersonic missile test he concedes to Putin in advance of their summit.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -Congressman Mike Turner recently joined Reps. Annie Kuster (D-NH), Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE) and Jackie Walorski (R-IN) to reintroduce H.R. 5697, the Community Re-Entry through Addiction Treatment to Enhance (CREATE) Opportunities Act. This legislation works to expand access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for individuals in incarceration and would create a new grant program within the Department of Justice for state and local governments to provide MAT in their correctional facilities.
