DAYTON, OHIO—On Wednesday March 31^st, Congressman Mike Turner held a virtual meeting with local township officials to discuss necessary resources to overcome the pandemic, including the urgent need to clarify a provision in President Biden's stimulus package, the American Rescue Plan, that does not guarantee their eligibility to receive new relief funds.

WASHINGTON DC—Today, Congressmen John Garamendi (D-CA) and Mike Turner (R-OH) reintroduced the "Military Retiree Survivor Comfort Act". This bipartisan legislation would prohibit the Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) from clawing back the final retirement benefit paid to a veteran the month that they pass.

Congressman Turner, a senior Republican member of the House Armed Services Committee, stated:

WASHINGTON, DC-- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced that Fiver Rivers Health Centers will receive a $1,945,875 grant. Since January of 2020, Five Rivers Health Centers has received over $10.2 million in federal funding.

This grant was made possible in part by Congressman Mike Turner's support of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA), which appropriated funding to the Department of Health and Human Services.

In helping announce the grant, Congressman Turner stated:

"Last night I voted to help pass the Paycheck Protection Program Extension Act. This two-month extension will allow more small businesses to take advantage of remaining funds in the PPP program, which has supported about 1 in 3 jobs in Dayton. After working directly with Dayton area small business owners and advocating for more businesses to apply to this program, I know how vital this extension would be to our community," said Rep. Turner. "I urge the Senate to pass the PPP Extension Act as soon as possible and I look forward to this legislation being signed into law by President Biden."

WASHINGTON, DC -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced that Wright State University will receive a $400,000 grant for clinical research on neurological disorders. This grant was made possible in part by Congressman Mike Turner's support of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA), which appropriated funding to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) for the purposes of grant funding for universities. Specifically, NINDS allocated the grant to WSU so they could continue their research on the neurological disease ALS.
