$456,500 Grant Will Support Basic Operations for Dayton Non-Profit Housing Developer

Dayton, OH-Today Congressman Turner announced that the House Committee on Appropriations will issue an expendable grant operating support for the NeighborWorks network, including a $456,500 grant to the St. Mary's Development Corporation.

The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) under Title III of Division L provided $163,000,000 to the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation, known as "NeighborWorks". A long-time advocate for affordable housing, Turner's support for the CRRSAA helped make this funding possible.

DAYTON, OH—Today Congressman Mike Turner partnered with Democrat Congressman Paul Tonko (NY-20) to reintroduce bipartisan legislation, the Medicaid Reentry Act, that would provide Medicaid access to incarcerated individuals in Ohio and throughout the country for the 30 days before their release. This change establishes a foundation for treatment during incarceration, which law enforcement officials and medical providers both agree will address a growing problem contributing to recidivism and the opioid epidemic.

"Upgrading Dayton's levee system remains critical to our region's safety and local economy," said Congressman Michael Turner (OH-10). "I'm appreciative of the EDA's $1.1 million grant which will support key infrastructure improvements in the Miami Valley. These improvements are necessary to our region to help prevent future flood disasters, and will help retain jobs and generate further investment in Miami Valley businesses."

Dayton, Ohio-Following the first Dayton Water Panel virtual meeting of 2021, Congressman Mike Turner, Chair of the Dayton Water Panel Tom Raga, Commissioner Debbie Lieberman, representatives from LimnoTech, and other members of the panel, held a virtual press conference to discuss the panel's goals and timeline for the water study.

LimnoTech, the independent consulting firm that will conduct the study, briefed the panel on the plan and allowed for questions and feedback from panelists in order to ensure that the study will be consistent with the needs of the Dayton community.
