Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) released the following statement after Congressman Ro Khanna (CA-17) submitted an amendment to prohibit military force against Iran:
"Legislating against our Commander in Chief's ability to defend our country and its allies is a threat to our national security and dangerously emboldens Iran and its proxy terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah which threaten our ally Israel. The President has shown restraint in response to attacks by Iran, and this amendment would needlessly restrict his military options."
After a markup yesterday, the House Ways and Means Committee passed the Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2019, a bill that would extend the Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC) program for an additional year.

"The Fostering Stable Housing Opportunities Act will help break the issue of federally created homelessness, in which youth are currently aging out of foster care and into homelessness," said Turner. "Roughly 20,000 youth across the country age out of foster care each year. This bill will create a pathway that kids who age out of the foster care system can use to transition successfully into independence."
