DAYTON, OHIO – Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10), Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, hosted Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (LA-04) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. During their visit, Chairman Turner and Speaker Johnson received a classified national security briefing at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), after which they held a joint press conference.
“It’s my honor to welcome Speaker Johnson here today – he has provided unbelievable leadership in the House at a very tumultuous time,” said Congressman Mike Turner. “The Speaker moved forward on some very important national security bills and provisions that make a difference not only for our country but for our allies. And as the leader of the House, he has a great interest in how we use intelligence to ensure the security and safety of our nation. I’m very proud to show him Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and we’re very proud of the men and women who work here behind the fence.”

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, which hosts the 88th Air Base Wing, has been home to the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) since 1961, as well as the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC).
Since being appointed as the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee in 2022, Congressman Turner has hosted the leader of the House Republican Conference to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base each year. Last June, Congressman Turner welcomed then-Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (CA-20) along with Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02), Chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
