Congressman Mike Turner released the following statement honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:
“Today, I am glad to be joining the Dayton community in remembering the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His dedication to the cause of combating injustice with the weapon of peaceful resistance, serves as a shining model for those throughout the world. His struggle for civil rights on behalf of all Americans shows that liberty and the full rights of your citizenship should not be a condition of your skin color. Dr. King also showed us all that through dedication and belief in human progress we can achieve what some had thought unachievable. His devotion to the cause of civil rights has changed the lives of millions and the nation as a whole.”
