Congressman Mike Turner, Chairman of the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee, and Congresswoman Niki Tsongas (MA-03) were briefed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on national security and base operations.

Following their briefing at WPAFB, Congressman Turner and Congresswoman Tsongas toured the GE Aviation EPISCenter at the University of Dayton.

Congressman Turner released the following statement:

“As the home of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and GE Aviation’s EPISCenter, Dayton is one of the top national defense communities in the country. As our country continues to face new and evolving threats, we must push to end sequestration. Congresswoman Tsongas and I continue to partner together in Congress for a strong national defense in tandem with both WPAFB and Hanscom Air Force Base. “

Congresswoman Tsongas released the following statement:

“Over the past several years, Rep. Turner and I have built a partnership, grounded in a mutual desire to do what’s right and what’s best for the men and women of the United States military. Today’s visit to Wright-Patterson AFB and GE’s EPISCenter continued that bipartisan collaboration, and provided a firsthand look at the cutting-edge innovation and the sophisticated resources being developed to address current and future national security challenges, as well as to support the safety and success of our servicemembers. I appreciate the opportunity to visit Congressman Turner’s district and learn about further ways for us to collaborate. And, I look forward to welcoming him to Massachusetts tomorrow where we will continue our important discussions and site visits focusing on national security, research, innovation and economic development.”
