Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) released the following statement after Congressman Ro Khanna (CA-17) submitted an amendment to prohibit military force against Iran:
“Legislating against our Commander in Chief’s ability to defend our country and its allies is a threat to our national security and dangerously emboldens Iran and its proxy terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah which threaten our ally Israel. The President has shown restraint in response to attacks by Iran, and this amendment would needlessly restrict his military options.”
Turner serves as the Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces, a senior Member of the House Intelligence Committee, and Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
