As a senior GOP member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee Subcommittee on Strategic Forces, Rep. Turner has been a lead critic on President Biden’s recent foreign policy decisions.
Withdrawing troops from Afghanistan
Having visited Afghanistan several times as a member of Congress, Rep. Turner released a strong statement opposing President Biden’s decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan by September 11, 2021, calling it “irresponsible” and saying that it will, “make America and the world less safe and I urge President Biden to reconsider.”

Biden’s Defense Budget
As a key advocate for a 3-5% increase in the defense budget adjusted for inflation, Rep. Turner was one of the first to lambast President Biden’s budget proposal last Friday: “Amid growing threats from China, North Korea, Iran and Russia, any defense cuts will be cause for concern.”

Biden’s Poor Strategy with Iran and China
According to the Washington Post, a new report by The U.S. intelligence community concludes China is the most “significant, long-term threat” to the United States and its allies. At the same time, reports from earlier this week stated that Iran is enriching uranium to 60%, a step many say puts them on a stronger path towards developing a nuclear weapon. Rep. Turner went on Fox Business Mornings with Maria to discuss how these threats require President Biden to build up our military and stand strong with our allies, not turn his back on them.
"This is an administration that has completely misplaced priorities as to where they are spending, where they are cutting."
