Rep. Mike Turner (OH-10), the lead Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, released the following statement on Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine:
“Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is an act of war that warrants a swift and crippling response from the United States and its allies. I stand with the people of Ukraine and continue to support providing arms and intelligence to the Ukrainian people so they can defend themselves. The Nord Stream 2 project must end now and forever. The US must also implement sanctions on Russian financial institutions and impose crippling penalties to hamstring the Russian economy,” said Turner.
“Vladimir Putin’s attempt to upend democracy with this unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation violates international law, and he must face the consequences of his actions.”
