DAYTON, OH – Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) honored the six 2022 U.S. Service Academy Appointees that he nominated from his congressional district. The honorees were appointed to the following academies: United States Military Academy, United States Naval Academy and United States Air Force Academy.
"Since I was elected to Congress, I have had the honor of nominating students to the U.S. Service Academies. The students who dedicate their life to serving this country, do so bravely and boldly - they are the future of our nation and embody what it means to be an American. I am confident that these six students are well prepared, and will represent Ohio well," said Turner.

Turner has nominated students to U.S. service academies every year since being elected to Congress in 2002, and every year at least one student has been appointed.
To be considered for an appointment to a service academy, an applicant must meet the eligibility requirements established by law and be nominated from an authorized person including a Member of the United States Senate or the House of Representatives. The Congressman can only nominate applicants who are legally domiciled within the boundaries of the Tenth District of Ohio. Receiving a nomination is only the first step in the process of receiving an offer of an appointment to a U.S. military service academy. The five students Rep. Turner announced have all been appointed.
