Dayton, OHToday, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10), hosted the Wright-Patterson Regional Council of Governments (WPCOG) at his District Office for an update on their current priorities and projects surrounding Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB) and Springfield Air National Guard Base (NGB).

"Securing funding to increase the economic development and future opportunities for Wright-Patterson AFB and Springfield Air NGB continues to be a top priority of mine," said Turner. "As the largest single-site employer in the state of Ohio, Wright-Patterson is crucial to our national defense capabilities and Ohio's economy. I commend WPCOG for their dedication to improving our local communities surrounding the bases."

Background:
The purpose of COG is to coordinate the powers and duties of member communities to better serve and benefit the economic development and land use planning of the region.
In 2021, Rep. Turner secured $1 million in funding for WPCOG to bolster small businesses within the community and conduct research on future economic developments. As the largest single-site employer in the state of Ohio, Wright-Patterson employees over 30,000 workers, making it a critical asset to the surrounding communities.
