WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (OH-10) issued the following statement following the news that Speaker Emeritus Kevin McCarthy (CA-20) would resign from Congress:
“Speaker McCarthy and I tirelessly worked together to safeguard our nation’s interests, and I am immensely grateful for his trust when he appointed me the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Furthermore, I appreciated hosting Speaker McCarthy in Southwest Ohio each year, where he received briefings at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and further demonstrated his commitment to our military and his understanding of its vital role in our national defense. It has been a true honor to serve with Kevin.”
