DAYTON, OHIO – Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) announced that the Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded $2,000,000 in federal funding to support planning efforts to reconfigure the US-35 corridor. This grant aims to revitalize Route US-35 through Dayton's urban core and West Dayton, creating a more connected, vibrant, and economically thriving community.
“The $2,000,000 federal grant for the Revive35 project is a critical investment in Dayton’s future, addressing public safety, accessibility, and economic growth,” said Congressman Mike Turner. “I am proud to help secure funding that prioritizes our community’s needs while fostering collaboration with local stakeholders.”
“Today marks an exciting step forward for our city as we announce the receipt of a $2,000,000 grant to conduct a comprehensive planning study for the US-35 corridor,” said Mayor Jeffrey Mims. “This grant will allow us to explore innovative solutions to enhance connectivity, stimulate local economic growth, and improve the accessibility of on- and off-ramps along US-35. By reimagining this critical transportation route, we are creating new opportunities for our community, strengthening Dayton's infrastructure, and fostering a more vibrant future for residents and businesses alike.”
The $2,000,000 grant will enable the City of Dayton to conduct a comprehensive planning study focused on reconfiguring the US-35 corridor. The study will involve community engagement to explore solutions that enhance mobility, safety, and public health while addressing environmental concerns. Proposed efforts include reviewing intersections, interchanges, and other roadway elements to determine potential retrofits or removals to support sustainable development.
