Watch Congressman Turner's remarks here.

Background:

Turner has long argued for greater federal investments in modernizing the U.S. nuclear arsenal and developing a comprehensive missile defense strategy, citing growing threats posed by China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea.

In January 2025 President Trump signed an executive order directing the Department of Defense to develop a comprehensive missile defense system for the United States, now known as Golden Dome. Turner commended President Trump’s directive which served as the basis for today’s questioning during the House Armed Services Committee hearing.
