Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10), Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, released the following statement supporting the UK's decision to prevent the inclusion of new Huawei equipment in the UK 5G network and the goal of removing all Huawei equipment from the network by 2027:

This week, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies approved a total of $69.8 million coming directly to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in FY 2021. In addition to the $35 million secured for the Intelligence Facility Central Utility Plant and $23.5 million for a new Hydrant Fuel System, this funding includes an additional $11.3 million for area maintenance support activity for the Army Reserve, as requested by Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10).

Today Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, under questioning by House Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces Ranking Member Mike Turner (OH-10), testified to the House Armed Services Committee that he had "not received a briefing that included the word 'bounty,'" and that if there was "a credible, corroborated report that used those words, certainly it would have been brought to [his] attention by the chain of command...for action."

Ranking Member Mike Turner (OH-10) of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces secured $58.5 million in military construction project funding for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. This follows Turner's major win of a $182 million expansion project at Wright-Patt's National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), the largest expansion project in the history of the Base. The funding is included in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021, which passed the House Armed Services Committee last night and is headed to the House floor later this month.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) officials admitted Thursday on a House Armed Services Committee conference call that, despite conditions placed on Ligado in the FCC Order to mitigate the concerns of harmful interference to GPS receivers, 13 federal agencies and departments remain opposed the FCC's Ligado decision. In addition, FCC officials indicated no one at the FCC received any classified briefings from these agencies on the harm that could be done if Ligado's application was approved.
