During the impeachment proceedings against President Richard Nixon, I watched along with the rest of the country, completely transfixed by the hearings. The country is equally transfixed now, but is at a complete disadvantage by the way you are running this inquiry.

Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) released the following statement after participating in the first hour of Kurt Volker's testimony in front of the House Intelligence Committee:

Reps. Mike Turner (R-OH), Gerry Connolly (D-VA), and Peter King (R-NY) introduced H.R. 4264, the Safe Homefront Act, to ensure that no U.S. servicemember with a felony-level domestic violence conviction is able to legally purchase firearms. This bipartisan legislation would codify and strengthen the Department of Defense's (DOD) policies regarding the reporting of domestic violence convictions and Military Protective Orders (MPOs) to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). Also, this legislation would give military commanders peace of mind that no convicted domestic abuser who is currently legally restricted from purchasing firearms goes unreported.

Today, Representatives Mike Turner (OH-10), Madeleine Dean (PA-04), Karen Bass (CA-37), and Steve Stivers (OH- 15) introduced a revised version of The Fostering Stable Housing Opportunities Act (FSHO), a bipartisan bill designed to increase access to housing for youth aging out of foster care without increasing federal spending.
