Washington, D.C– Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) and Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12), co-chairs of the Romania Caucus released the following statements after introducing a resolution honoring 25 years of a Strategic Partnership between the U.S. and Romania.

"When the United States and Romania signed the Strategic Partnership 25 years ago, both countries knew working together would strengthen economic and national security opportunities for a better future," said Turner. "In the face of Russia’s illegal war, the critical need for this partnership is once again realized with U.S. service members and weapons systems stationed alongside Romanians as they protect their borders and support their neighbor Ukraine. It is my hope the depths of the strong relationship between our two countries only deepens over the next 25 years.”

"The decades-long strategic partnership between the United States and Romania underscores our nations’ shared commitment to the transatlantic relationship, as well as supporting peace and security in the region. We look forward to continuing to build bridges between our two nations based on shared interests and values to support security, economic resiliency, and fundamental human rights in the years ahead,” said Dingell.
