Congressman Mike Turner released the following statement after the Dayton VA announced that Department of Veterans Affairs’ Secretary Robert McDonald has approved the site for a Fisher House.
Congressman Turner sent a letter of support of a Fisher House being located on the Dayton VA Medical Center Campus.
“In October, I sent a letter to the Dayton VA Medical Center in support of a Fisher House being located on the Medical Center’s campus. I applaud Secretary McDonald’s approval of this important project as it will serve as an invaluable resource to our community’s veterans and to the veterans throughout the Southwest Ohio region.”
The VA Medical Center services a wide catchment area, including more than 38,000 veterans and spanning seventeen counties in Southwest Ohio. The addition of such a location strengthens our commitment to providing high quality and compassionate veteran care.
