TURNER’s Statement on the Passing of Shimon Peres

Congressman Turner released the following statement on the passing of former Israeli President Shimon Peres:

“Today, we join the State of Israel in mourning Shimon Peres’s passing. He will be remembered for his leadership and commitment to peace with Palestine and his love of country. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Congressman Turner has met with Israeli President Shimon Peres multiple times. Most notably, in 2008, Congressman Turner traveled to Israel as part of a Congressional Delegation led by then Senator George Voinovich.
