Ranking Member Mike Turner (OH-10) of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces secured $58.5 million in military construction project funding for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. This follows Turner’s major win of a $182 million expansion project at Wright-Patt’s National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), the largest expansion project in the history of the Base. The funding is included in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021, which passed the House Armed Services Committee last night and is headed to the House floor later this month.
“I am proud to announce that I was able to secure $58.5 million in funding for construction projects at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in the House version of the National Defense Authorization Act. This includes $35 million for an Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program to construct an Intelligence Facility Central Utility Plant, as well as $23.5 million to replace a hydrant fuel system. Between these projects and the $182 million expansion at NASIC I secured, Wright-Patt has gained over $240 million from my direct advocacy and work on the House Armed Services Committee in the past three years.”
