Washington, D.C.- Congressman Mike Turner has been named to the Readiness Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee.
Washington, D.C.- Congressman Mike Turner (R-OH) has been named to the Readiness Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee. Rep. Turner is also the Ranking Member of the Strategic Forces Subcommittee and has served on the House Armed Services Committee since coming to Congress in 2003. “I am very proud to serve on the House Armed Services Committee and look forward to serving on the Readiness Subcommittee,” Congressman Turner said. “This subcommittee is not only responsible for our military’s state of readiness, it also plays a major role in the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Process. They also have oversight of all military construction projects and military training. Clearly, the work done in this subcommittee is critical to both our nation’s continued military superiority and to Southwest Ohio.”
Congressman Turner also serves on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform where he serves on the National Security and Foreign Affairs Subcommittee as well as the Domestic Policy Subcommittee.
“My work on this subcommittee will directly impact Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the largest employer in our region,” Rep. Turner said. “I look forward to working with Chairman Ortiz and Ranking Member Forbes to strengthen our nation’s military.”
