DAYTON, Ohio — The Downtown Dayton Security Working Group met Monday morning at CareSource Corporate Headquarters with Dayton Mayor Shenise Turner-Sloss to receive the City of Dayton’s response to the Working Group’s recommendations. The meeting marked an important step forward in the group’s ongoing effort working with the city to improve safety, coordination, and long-term confidence in downtown Dayton.
The Working Group expressed appreciation for the City’s presentation and for the progress being made to implement the group’s recommendations. Following the meeting, the Working Group sent a letter thanking Mayor Turner-Sloss and city leadership for their commitment to addressing downtown Dayton’s challenges and advancing a shared vision for progress, economic development, and growth.
In attendance were Congressman Mike Turner, Mayor Shenise Turner-Sloss, City Manager Shelley Dickstein, City Commissioner Chris Shaw, and members of the Downtown Dayton Security Working Group, including Erhardt Preitauer, President & CEO of CareSource; Jason Woodard, Principal of Woodard Development; Senator Willis Blackshear, Ohio Senate District 6; Representative Phil Plummer, Ohio House District 39; Representative Tom Young, Ohio House District 37; Representative Andrea White, Ohio House District 36; and Andy Horner, VP of the University of Dayton as a representative for member Eric Spina, President of the University of Dayton.
