This year, I joined the Ohio Congressional delegation in sitting together as a symbol of unity. The delegation has had a strong tradition of working across the aisle to accomplish good things for the benefits of all Ohioans. .
This past week, President Obama addressed Congress and the nation on the State of the Union. It's a tradition mandated by the Constitution and one of the great institutions of our country. In previous years, viewers at home noticed that each party sat on their respective side of the aisle and applauded at partisan moments.

By repealing Obamacare, we have taken the first step towards fixing the potholes littered throughout this massive law. Now comes the hard part – drafting bipartisan legislation which will reform healthcare for Ohioans and all Americans. .
On January 19th, I joined a bipartisan group of House Members to support the repeal of Obamacare. With this vote, more Members voted to repeal the bill (245-189) than voted for its passage last year (219-212).

I commend the Secretary's effort to increase efficiency and streamline the Department of Defense, but those efforts should not come at the expense of the safety of our men and women in uniform or our national security. As Chairman of the House Armed Services' Strategic Forces Subcommittee I have the obligation to ensure that does not happen. .
On January 6th, Defense Secretary Robert Gates announced more than $150 billion in department-wide cuts and efficiencies to be made over the next five years.

In my position as the Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee for the last two years, I've had the opportunity to work to ensure that Ohioans, as well as our men and women in uniform, have the resources they need to succeed. .

With the new Congress underway, there are many priorities we must confront. We still have much work to do to put Ohioans back to work and addressing the culture of reckless spending in Washington. I look forward to working with Speaker Boehner and the 100 newly elected Members of Congress to accomplish these goals for the people of Southwest Ohio. .

This week I had the honor of being sworn in for a 5th term in Congress by a fellow Ohioan, Speaker John Boehner.
